# Illiana APA Christmas Scotch Doubles Set for Dec. 12

Illiana APA will host two Christmas 8-Ball Scotch Doubles tournaments on December 12, 2026, at Griffith Billiards. The 14th annual event separates teams into combined skill-level groups of 9-12 and 4-8, with each tournament limited to 32 teams.

Both brackets use modified single elimination and return 100% of entry fees through the prize fund. Tournament No. 1 starts at 10:00 a.m., while Tournament No. 2 begins at 2:00 p.m.

## What are the two Christmas tournament divisions?

Tournament No. 1 is for teams with a combined skill level of 9-12. Teams rated 9-10 race to three games, while teams rated 11-12 race to four. The bracket starts at 10:00 a.m.

Tournament No. 2 is for a combined skill level of 4-8. Teams rated 6 or lower race to two games, while teams rated 7-8 race to three. That bracket starts at 2:00 p.m.

A team may enter only one of the two tournaments. Scotch Doubles means partners alternate shots during each inning rather than completing an entire turn individually.

## What eligibility rules apply?

Each player's skill level must be supported by at least 10 Illiana APA scores within the past two years in either 8-Ball or 9-Ball. A player active only in 9-Ball may still participate, but should contact the league office so the player's rating can be converted to an 8-Ball skill level.

The announced phone number for rating questions and registration is **708-745-8244**. Teams should resolve any skill-level question before entering because the combined rating determines which tournament they may choose.

## How much does registration cost?

Early registration is $50 per team when the required text reaches Johnny on or before December 10. The fee increases to $60 when the text is received after December 10. Teams bring their entry fee to the tournament.

To register, text Johnny at **708-745-8244** and include:

- Both partners' names and player numbers.
- Both partners' skill levels.
- Whether the team is entering Christmas Tournament No. 1 or No. 2.

Registration is not complete until the team receives a confirmation text stating that it is in the field.

## What is the projected payout?

The flyer lists the same projected payout for both tournaments when each bracket reaches 32 teams. Entry fees are paid back at 100%, with approximately the top 25% of the field receiving money.
