2026 ACS Texas State Championships: Entry Rules and Prizes

Eligible ACS and CCS members from the U.S. and Canada can enter singles, Scotch doubles and team divisions at the Frank Mayborn Center.

The 2026 ACS Texas State Championships will run from October 28 through November 1 at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic & Convention Center in Temple, Texas. Official tournament materials list $8,000 in guaranteed added cash and prizes across singles and team competition, with Scotch doubles, senior and junior events also on the program.

Qualified ACS and CCS members from the United States and Canada may enter. With the final entry deadline set for October 23, players should register through Compusport promptly and make sure any required league-operator approval is completed before the event.

Official 2026 ACS Texas State Championships guidelines cover

When and where will the championship be played?

The five-day event is scheduled for October 28-November 1, 2026, at:

Frank W. Mayborn Civic & Convention Center
3303 N. 3rd Street
Temple, TX 76501

The American CueSports Alliance event calendar lists the tournament from 8:00 a.m. on October 28 through 5:00 p.m. on November 1. The detailed ACS Texas schedule divides play among Scotch doubles, senior singles, regular singles and team competition.

Who is eligible to enter the 2026 event?

The 2026 guidelines expand eligibility to any qualified ACS or CCS player from the United States or Canada.

To qualify, a player must have completed at least four full matches across a minimum of four full weeks in an ACS- or CCS-sanctioned league since October 1, 2025.

Teams may include as many as eight players. The team rating cap is calculated from the four highest-rated players on the roster.

Unranked players without supporting performance data cannot enter the Recreational or Standard singles divisions. They must compete as Open players or higher. Professional players are permitted only when their individual CSR, or the team's CSR, remains below the cap for the selected event.

How much are the entry fees?

The official guidelines divide each total fee into entry, registration and green-fee components.

Event Division Total fee Fee breakdown
Scotch Doubles All divisions $125 $75 entry + $20 registration + $30 green fee
Singles and Seniors All listed divisions $125 $75 entry + $20 registration + $30 green fee
Juniors Under 10, under 14 and under 18 $30 $30 entry; no registration or green fee
Teams Recreational or Standard $250 $110 entry + $40 registration + $100 green fee
Teams Open through Master $350 $210 entry + $40 registration + $100 green fee

The event offers mixed and women's divisions from Recreational through Master, subject to CSR and Fargo caps. Race lengths increase with the division level.

How do the CSR and Fargo Rating rules work?

Ratings freeze on October 1, 2026. For entries received within the standard registration period, organizers allow a cushion of 15 CSR points per player or 10 Fargo points per player through the event start date.

Late entries do not receive the cushion rule and are not eligible for a downgrade before play begins. A late entrant can be moved into a higher division if the player's updated rating requires it.

Lower divisions may be combined when entry numbers are small. Advanced divisions will not be blended downward when they reach at least four teams or eight singles entries. If divisions are combined, race lengths may be adjusted.

What is the tournament schedule?

Date Start time Main events
Wednesday, October 28 9:00 a.m. Scotch Doubles, Mixed Seniors 8-Ball and Women's Seniors 8-Ball
Thursday, October 29 9:00 a.m. Recreational, Standard, Open and Open+ singles
Thursday, October 29 1:00 p.m. Advanced and Master singles
Friday, October 30 7:00 p.m. Mixed and women's team divisions begin
Saturday, October 31 4:00 p.m. Junior divisions begin
Sunday, November 1 Through completion Team competition and remaining finals

Scotch Doubles and senior events take place at the same time on Wednesday, so players must choose between them. The guidelines state that regular 8-Ball singles divisions will not conflict with team divisions.

What tables, balls and rules will be used?

The championship will use seven-foot, league-cut Diamond tables with Aramith Duramith tournament balls. ACS Texas also says Bad Boys Productions is supplying Diamond tables and Litman lighting for the event.

Play follows the ACS version of the World Pool Rules effective September 2025, and the tournament format is rack your own.

These equipment details give competitors a clear picture of the playing environment before arriving in Temple: professional table lighting, consistent tournament balls and Diamond equipment throughout the venue.

What cash and championship benefits are available?

The official guidelines guarantee $8,000 in added cash and prizes:

  • $3,000 allocated to singles cash and prizes.
  • $5,000 allocated to team cash and prizes.

Those totals include return-entry awards for the 2027 ACS Texas State Championships and national-entry benefits.

ACS Texas states that each singles and doubles division champion will receive free entry to ACS Nationals. Each main team-division champion is scheduled to receive a free team entry to ACS Nationals plus two hotel rooms for two nights at the host hotel.

The event also offers return entries to the 2027 ACS Texas State Championships in Port Arthur for singles, doubles and team winners under the published award structure.

How should players register before October 23?

Compusport is the preferred online registration method, and ACS Texas says it reduces processing fees by 50%. Singles and team entries remain pending until approved by the player's league operator, so submitting an entry alone does not complete the approval process.

2026 ACS Texas singles entry form preview

The early-entry deadline was October 1. Late fees apply from October 2 through October 23: $20 for singles or Scotch Doubles and $60 for teams. The PDF guidelines state that post-October 1 entries must be completed through Compusport.

Players should not mail entry forms. The final listed deadline is October 23.

There is one discrepancy in the official materials: the tournament webpage lists a $20 onsite singles fee, while the PDF guidelines list $15. Both list $20 for doubles and $40 for teams. Anyone considering onsite registration should confirm the current singles charge directly with ACS Texas before traveling.

Players can access the ACS Texas online registration page on Compusport.

What dress code will be enforced?

Singles competitors must wear a sleeved golf-style or button-down shirt with a conventional collar. Long pants, clean jeans, skirts and tailored shorts are permitted, and leg coverings must reach at least the knee area. Clean closed-toe shoes are required.

T-shirts, sweats, warm-up suits, jogging suits, swimsuits and cut-offs are not allowed. Matching team shirts are mandatory during team competition, and each player must have their own shirt.

The guidelines allow penalties ranging from a one-game forfeiture to match forfeiture for repeat violations. Players who need a medical exception must arrange it with the head referee before the tournament and carry the supporting documentation.
