Western BCA is an Oregon-based nonprofit player's association formed in 1995 that sanctions leagues across the Pacific Northwest and Western United States. Playing in a Western BCA-sanctioned league sanctions members with both the regional association and the national BCA Pool League, which runs the world championships in Las Vegas.
Who is eligible to play?
Players must be members in good standing with Western BCA, CueSports International and their local league. The published eligibility requirements call for the $15 Western BCA annual fee and the $20 CSI/BCAPL membership paid through the league operator, plus at least eight calendar weeks of play in a single division of a regularly scheduled league session during the calendar year.
The cutoff for completing the eight weeks is the close of registration for the event. Players short on weeks for medical or other reasons can ask their league operator to request an exemption from the tournament committee. Everyone must provide a Social Security or international ID number to the payouts desk before receiving prize money.
How does registration work?
All entries are filed online through the Player's Dashboard on the association's website — there is no on-site registration for any tournament division. The association's published schedule says 8-ball championship registration typically opens around January 1 and closes in mid-February, with late fees applying after the early window. The 2026 player information sheet listed late fees of $25 for singles, $25 for Scotch doubles and $60 for teams; final 2027 pricing and the division list appear on the event's official player information sheet.
Fargo ratings for team and Scotch doubles entries lock at sign-up, so captains should verify ratings before registering. A player may enter only one Scotch doubles event, one singles event and one team event per championship, and teammates must create a player account before they can be added to a roster.
What divisions does the tournament run?
The championship is built around FargoRate-capped divisions across three event types — singles led by the open Elite singles event, Scotch doubles and teams. The most recently published player information sheet, covering the 2026 edition, listed Scotch doubles flights at 1250, 1100, 1000, 900 and 800 combined Fargo with entries from $110 to $310, alongside Elite singles and capped team divisions.
Results posted from the 2026 championships show the scale of the payouts: $3,750 to the top 1250-and-under Scotch doubles team, $3,210 to the 1100-and-under winners and $4,420 to the champions of the 2400-and-under team division.
What side events and rules apply?
The association confirms Fun Day events at $20 per player — $20 for singles and $40 per Scotch doubles team — with sign-ups through the Player's Dashboard and no refunds or waitlists. Single-elimination Second Chance tournaments run across all events for players eliminated before the payout rounds; entry is cash only at the BadBoys podium and Scotch and team players must keep their original rosters.
The association publishes its own tournament rules and regulations plus a separate dress code for the event, running alongside the BCA Pool League rules framework used across CSI-sanctioned play. Its code of conduct requires good standing with the host casino — no bullying or sharking, no vaping or smoking outside designated areas, and no racking balls or conceding matches early.
Brackets are posted online, and the association streams matches through its StreamHub channel. Lodging discounts for the Lincoln City venue are published on the Western BCA website.
